About

Philly Side Arts: It’s Your City. Get the inside arts connection

Philly Side Arts is an online community where established and emerging artists and art related businesses find and share information about local opportunities including calls for artists, gallery openings, and educational events. Philly Side Arts hosts networking events, art parties, and workshops that are held throughout the year. All local artists, designers, and crafters, as well as galleries, non-profit arts organizations, service providers, and event promoters are encouraged to join!

The biggest challenge an artist faces, besides creating their artwork, is finding opportunities to show or sell their artwork. The biggest challenge that galleries, non-profit arts organizations, and art event promoters have is finding talented artists that align with the type of arts or crafts they want to promote. Philly Side Arts connects these two groups by providing the most current and helpful information about local opportunities and artists.

How do we do it? Artists and art related businesses create free Side Arts profiles on the website. Artists post information to the blog about what is going on in the community. Side Arts constantly researches opportunities to post on the blog while business users send regular updates for consideration. Users can edit their email settings to receive updates (and exclusive offers from Side Arts) about calls for artists, gallery openings, networking and educational events. More advanced features including portfolio hosting, calendaring options, and friend and chat features are currently being developed for paid membership users.

We respect your privacy. We will not sell or distribute any personal information you provide to any third parties without your approval. You retain the rights to all of the images you upload to the website.

Have some great ideas that you want to express to the arts community? We are looking for guest bloggers who will contribute one post per week for four weeks to the Side Arts blog. Each post will be added to the blog on Tuesdays. We are looking for concise, engaging content rather than long editorials; an average post should be between 400 and 1000 words and images are encouraged.

What we want:
The articles should focus on your experience in the Philadelphia art community, success stories, how-to art tips, interviews, do’s and dont’s, and things you have learned as an artist or business owner along the way.

What we do not want:
Press releases. Business advertisements. Content that has been posted elsewhere. Negative criticism of any kind.

If you are interested in contributing, please email mail@phillysidearts.com with your ideas and contact information.
